What is the difference between the Guide to Effective Philanthropy and the Philanthropy Toolkit?
Both the “Guide” and the “Toolkit” will teach you the basics of everything you need to know about the principles and practices of effective philanthropy. The Guide reads like a normal book volume. It is detailed and comprehensive, but easy to understand, covering the basics of philanthropic practice as well as a number of other deeper topics. The Toolkit is more of a hands-on workbook full activities, additional features (such as the card deck), and discussion starters for those who want to get in action and create a philanthropic plan for themselves, their families, or when assisting clients.
They are both great resources – and they work wonderfully together. If you can’t decide which one is for you -- buy them both and see which one you like best!
What is the difference between your digital and print content?
There is little difference. Our mission is to get our research on best practices in philanthropy out into the world. All EPLI published content is offered free digitally, under Creative Commons license. However, physical print versions are highly preferred in many situations, hence they are offered for purchase.
How do you determine your prices?
All prices are as close to “at-cost” as possible. In other words: there is no mark-up, we are just trying to cover our costs. Prices also reflect the fact that we are producing materials in small quantities of stock.
SHIPPING & DELIVERY
How long does it usually take to get my items?
Unfortunately, due to the erratic impact of Coronavirus on mail and shipping services, at this time we recommend that you allow at least 2+ weeks for your items to arrive (if shipping within in the US). Our fulfillment center is in Southern California.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes, but at this time, we are currently developing better functionality to ship internationally. In part due to COVID19, you may see higher than normal prices for international shipping rates, determined by our carriers, not EPLI.
